Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What color choices do you offer for mulch?
We offer a variety of natural, vibrant colors, including: Vivid Red, Ultra Black, Light Brown, and Desert Gold. For a sample of these colors, please see our Color Selection page. Be sure to check back every so often, as we may add new colors from time to time.
Q: I’m not sure how much mulch I have. Can you figure that out for me?
If you are unsure of the amount of square footage your mulch covers, contact us at 1-800-555-8427. We’ll gladly come out and evaluate your property for FREE.
Q: How much money can I expect to save by having my mulch recolored instead of replaced?
Recoloring your mulch can save you up to 50% off the cost of replacing it. Having your mulch recolored by our professional crew also saves you time and eliminates the back-breaking work required to remove and reinstall new mulch.
Q: Does the green color you use to recolor grass look natural?
Yes. The green colorant we use for recoloring lawns has a very natural appearance. Having your lawn recolored is a great way to restore your property’s curb appeal and make it POP with color!
Q: How do you prevent the dyes from staining surrounding areas of landscaping?
We take great care when applying the colorants. We also perform a thorough cleanup after the color application, including rinsing off nearby plants, sidewalks, driveways, borders, and other landscaping. In addition, the dyes we use are temporary colorants, so there’s no need to worry about permanent staining.
Q: When is the best time of year to recolor mulch?
Although you can recolor your mulch at any time of year, you should take into consideration the weather experienced during each season. Spring and Summer months are ideal for having your mulch recolored, as this can help add to the beauty of your yard when trees and shrubs are flourishing and flowers are in bloom.
Q: Are the chemicals in the mulch coloring products you use safe?
We take safety very seriously. Every color treatment product we use is non-toxic and non-hazardous, and proven safe for the environment, people/children, and animals. Not only have the products we use been tested by their manufacturers, but also by independent laboratories.
Q: Do I need to be home during the recoloring process?
We prefer that you be home when we arrive so that you can verify your color choice, as well as sign off on our services when completed. However, we are willing to work around your schedule and accommodate your needs. If you are not able to be home during the appointment, it will be necessary for you to confirm your color choice and provide payment for our services ahead of time.
Q: How long does it take for the colorants to dry?
The colorants we use dry fairly quickly. However, it is best to refrain from watering your property for a minimum of 8 hours after the color application. This will help ensure you receive the maximum benefits from our recoloring services.
Q: How long will it take you to recolor my mulch beds?
This depends on the size of your property and the quantity of mulch on your property. Most properties take somewhere between 1 to 2 hours from start to finish—a lot faster than it would take you to reinstall new mulch.
Q: What types of mulch can you recolor?
We can recolor any type of wood chip or bark mulch.
Q: Is there anything I should do to my mulch beds before you arrive?
For best results, it is best if your mulch is dry when we arrive for the appointment. For this reason, please refrain from watering your mulch beds within 24-48 hours of our arrival. In the case of rain or snow, we will reschedule the appointment.
